Hurricane Irma Currently A Category 5 Hurricane With Maximum Sustained Winds of 175mph. Models Coming into Agreement that Portions of Florida May Be Affected With Potential Impact This Weekend. Storm Path Will Determine the Area Affected and Intensity of Storm.

FMIT Discussion:

  • Model projections now have Florida in the cone of uncertainty with landfall in South Florida as early as Saturday. Tropical Storm-Force Winds could begin affecting south Florida as early as Friday afternoon/evening.
  • Members should be in contact with internal Emergency Preparedness Teams in order to begin implementation of emergency preparedness measures.
  • FMIT is initiating their CAT Response Procedures in Orlando and is ready to implement the TurnKey Recovery Program with throughout the state.
  • FMIT is currently planning for the staging of personnel and resources as we better understand the path the storm will take.
  • Please be patient if contacting FMIT/Synergy as our incoming call volume is increasing as the storm approaches.

FMIT Member Preparedness Actions:

  • Members should continue to monitor Hurricane Irma as well as FMIT Alerts and local/national weather forecasts.
  • Members should begin familiarizing themselves with installing and using the TrackDown Damage Assessment App by Clicking Here.

Damage Reporting Options:

  • Call 844-FMIT-CAT (844-364-8228) to report any losses to your insured property and activate the FMIT Turnkey Recovery program for immediate response to any property losses you may have incurred. Also:
  • Go online: http://insurance.flcities.com and login to your account and submit your loss notice(s). FMIT and Synergy are immediately notified of your loss submittal.
